Description
Virginia Youth Ballet presents a classic ballet, The Steadfast Toy Soldier.
Sarah receives a doll house and dolls on her birthday. The evening after her party, Sarah discovers the dolls have come to life. Her favorite dolls, a soldier and a ballerina, are provoked by the mischievous Jack-in-the-Box. The soldier tries to protect the other dolls, but the Jack-in-the-Box throws the soldier over a wall. The soldier ends up in the sewer where he encounters strange creatures. His journey in the sewer ends when he is swallowed by a giant fish, but with a miraculous twist of fate, he returns home to Sarah.
Homeschool tickets will be available for $5 per person.
Performances will be held:
Thursday, March 12th, 2026 at 9:00am, 10:45am, & 12:45pm
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the performance. The performance will last approximately 1 -1 1/2 hours. Balcony or on the floor seating is available to homeschoolers. An educational digital program will be emailed 1-2 weeks prior to the performance.
