The Sunspots

“The Sunspots” is a music project started in 2024 by 2 Chicago natives, Jack Byron (Lead vocals/rhythm guitar) and Matt Glista (harmonies/lead guitar). For the past few years, Byron has been an independent artist, playing shows around Chicagoland as well as Nashville and the surrounding areas. For the past 2 years he was living in Nashville writing songs, playing, releasing music and honing his craft. Now he is back in Chicago, ready to hit the ground running with “The Sunspots.”

With two decades of musical experience, Matt has long been releasing his self-produced solo albums as "Mista Glista.”

After meeting at an open mic and playing a few shows together, Jack and Matt decided that the vibe was right and now they are expanding on their musical journey with “The Sunspots,” a project focusing on indie/pop/rock and original tunes.

WE HOST ONE OF THE BEST OPEN MICS IN THE COUNTRY EVERY SUNDAY, WHICH IS SPONSORED BY SHURE & GREENSTAR ORGANIC BREWERY. MANY OF OUR TALENTED NIGHTLY PERFORMERS HAVE GONE ON TO CRITICAL ACCLAIM.
