The Portage County Historical Society looks to preserve and promote the history of the county through public programming, exhibits, and historic sites.
Join the Portage County Historical Society and Mayor Mike Wiza for an unforgettable evening inside the Whiting Hotel’s ballroom as we celebrate 100 years of one of the most iconic buildings in Stevens Point. This 1920s themed event on the 90th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition, will feature throwback beverages from Point Brewery and Great Northern Distilling, appetizers from Rockman's Catering, live music by Cassondra Lea, and a historical presentation about the Whiting Hotel and Prohibition from PCHS Executive Director John Harry. Additionally, guests will have a chance to see some of the building with tours led by Chelsey Pfiffner.
Plus, there will be a raffle for a custom made piece of 1920s inspired jewelry from Lee Ayer's Jewelers created by Thomas Dailing Designs!
All ticket buyers will also become Portage County Historical Society members, if they aren't already!
Ticket Prices: Members - $25, Non-members - $30
