Mo’olelo – A Performing Arts Studio is a high-quality educational program dedicated to providing meaningful artistic experiences that will enrich and enhance the lives of our students. We strive to enhance students academically, artistically, and socially; developingindependent, cooperative, responsible, and creative young adults with a lifelong interest in learning. As we provide our students with the foundation of these skills and qualities, we will prepare and encourage them to pursue further educational goals and allow them to contribute, not only in the world of performing arts, but for the wellbeing of society as a whole.
Mo’olelo – A Performing Arts Studio presents “The Year Christmas Was Almost Cancelled” – an original musical about a winter season when a catastrophe threatens the annual celebration and Santa, his wife and their faithful elves deal with the potential tragedy of having to cancel Christmas for a year. This heart-warming story about the true importance of the season features a small, tight-knit cast featuring Broadway performer Matthew Pedersen as Santa and Po’okela Award winner Vanessa Mazzullo as Mrs. Claus. The musical opens Friday, December 1st at the Dr. Richard T. Mamiya Theatre on the campus of Saint Louis School in Kaimuki and performs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00pm and Sundays at 6:00pm through December 23rd (plus Thursday, December 21 at 7:00pm).
