COACHING WITH THEATRICAL AGENTS

3 CLASS SERIES starting May 1st, 2024

Elevate your career by studying with top industry insider

 

Elevate your career and sharpen your audition skills by working directly with shakers responsible for booking talent into Broadway’s biggest shows, and gain insight on what Agents are looking for when seeking new clients.

  • Class One: You will workshop your audition materials with talent agent Arbender Robinson from FIRESTARTER ENTERTAINMENT
  • Class Two: You will workshop your audition materials with talent agent Greg Uliasz from MCDONALD/SELZNICK ASSOCIATES (MSA Agency)
  • Class Three:  You will workshop your audition materials with talent agent Brian K Herrick from HELL'S KITCHEN AGENCY

Class will begin each week at 7pm and each student will work one-on-one with the instructor on cuts of audition songs or monologues in a classroom setting. Each class will also include a short Q&A, information on the intricacies of the casting process and insight on what the auditioner can do to stand out.

Under the direction of Artistic Director, Jeff Whiting, Open Jar’s Professional Class Series provides unique opportunities for performers to continue to hone their skills and work one-on-one with Broadway’s best stars, directors, composers,  agents, and casting directors.

Bios:

Arbender Robinson is a Talent Agent and Client Mentor with Firestarter Entertainment (FSE Talent).    FSE is a full-service talent agency in NYC and Los Angeles. Arbender transitioned to Agent after a successful career performing on stage, working in the Regional Market and Cruise Lines before a 21-year career on Broadway. Broadway Shows include Hairspray, Hair, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Ragtime, The Book of Mormon, Disney’s The Lion King, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Les Misérables, In Transit, and Shuffle Along.  Arbender has 1st hand knowledge of THE CRAFT of Acting, The Business of The Business, the Nuance of the Submission/Audition Process,  and the tools needed for a long career.

Greg Uliasz is an Agent in the New York office of MCDONALD/SELZNICK ASSOCIATES (MSA Agency), where represents a diverse roster of high caliber Creatives and Performers, working across all mediums. He is also a freelance educator, having taught for several colleges, universities, and industry training programs.  Prior to working as an agent, Greg worked numerous productions as the Associate Director to Tony Nominee Patricia Birch. Greg also previously worked as a NYC Casting Director. His cast of HAPPY BIRTHDAY WANDA JUNE received a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Additionally, he cast THE LIGHTNING THIEF, the Drama Desk Nominated Best Musical recently played Broadway, and his cast can be heard on the top-selling original cast album. Greg holds a master’s degree in Entertainment Business from FULL SAIL UNIVERSITY. He graduated as the class Valedictorian and earned the program’s Advanced Achievement Award in a course of study that included executive leadership, negotiation and deal making, entertainment business finance, media publishing and distribution, and advanced entertainment law. His undergraduate degree is from the prestigious Theatre Arts Program at MARYMOUNT MANHATTAN COLLEGE.

Brian K Herrick is a New York based Talent Agent and all around Entertainment Professional. A Southern New Jersey native, Brian spent his youth performing in professional work all around the tri-state area. Even from an early age, he's been fascinated with helping people figure out their place in this industry, and as soon as he got the chance he decided to make a whole career out of it. As a talent representative, Brian has worked for Jaime Baker Management (Talent Manager, Founder/Head of the Theatrical Roster), The Luedtke Agency (Jr. Agent), and The Price Group (Head Of Talent). His philosophy is that his clients are his peers, and he loves to be able to collaborate as much as possible to make their passions a reality. In that, he also believes in bringing humor into the workplace. Let's laugh! In his free time, you can catch him roaming the Upper West Side in search of the perfect happy hour!
