Tic-Tac-Toe in Clay: A Pottery Workshop
Join us for a playful three - hour pottery workshop where you'll design and build your own custom tic-tac-toe set — a game board plus nine game pieces, all made by hand and totally one-of-a-kind.
We'll provide simple board templates to get you started, but feel free to run with your own ideas. Want a rustic square board with X's and O's, or a round board with hand-carved stars and moons? Looking to add texture, stamps, or sculptural game pieces shaped like little creatures? This is your chance to make a game you'll actually want to display.
What we'll cover:
Basic hand-building techniques (slab construction, texture and stamping, carving)
Designing your board layout and choosing your game piece style
Building both the board and nine playing pieces
Underglaze (paint) your finished set before it goes in the kiln
No experience necessary — this workshop is beginner-friendly, and our instructor will guide you through each step. All clay, tools, glazes, and firing are included.
Please note: your pieces will need to be fired after class (bisque + glaze firing), so plan on picking up your finished tic-tac-toe set in about 2–3 weeks. We'll notify you when it's ready!
