Description

In this adaptation of the breathtaking novel by Catherine Hernandez, the rich interior lives of three children collide and unfurl over the course of one school year as they navigate the throes of institutional violence and inequality. Boasting revelatory performances from its young cast and a raw kineticism that thrusts audiences into the chaos of the children’s ever-changing world, this unflinching but hopeful drama depicts the capacity for great triumph and great tragedy on the periphery of unassuming suburbs.
