Description
Time for Mending!
A workshop with Izzy Li Kostrzewa
This is an intentional mending space where people can come together to learn about and practice mending and upcycling their own garments. The goals of this program are to build a community space where people of all skill levels feel welcome, foster an environment of appreciation and healing for what already exists, and provide the foundation for people to develop more mindful clothing relationships. The approach is casual, giving every individual room to mend in their own way, reflecting their unique aesthetics and identity, and providing time and space for connecting with others.
Participants should bring: a damaged garment of their choosing, or a piece they want to customize. Examples: sweater with a rip or stain, jacket missing a button, pants you want to turn into shorts, a top you want to crop, jeans you want to add a patch to
Vintage fabrics, sewing needles, thread and scissors will be provided. Bring your own materials if you wish.
No prerequisites! Open to all skill levels.
