Description

Help us create memories for students and visitors at the Erie Canal Museum as a tour guide.

The Erie Canal Museum is looking for volunteers who enjoy telling stories, history, and connecting with people. Becoming a tour guide is a chance to spend time in a remarkable space, learn the rich history of the Erie Canal, and share that story with visitors from near and far. You can learn to lead tours inside or outside of the museum during our regular public tour schedule or for specifically scheduled school field trips or tours.

Those interested are invited to attend a tour guide information and training session on February 28th at 10am. No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.

If you’ve ever wanted to be part of preserving local history and helping it come alive for others, this is a wonderful way to do so. If you have questions, contact Derrick Pratt at educator@eriecanalmuseum.org or 315-471-0593.
