About
Welcome to trans.ties!
Trans.ties is a covid-cautious shibari/rope group for transgender and nonbinary people. Welcome to our anniversary play party! We meet on the second Saturday of the month, with additional dates for special events.
At trans.ties events, our mission is to create a safer space for trans people to play and study an art form that is inextricably linked to our bodies. We believe that rope is for everybody and every body, and we strive to keep our space as accessible, safe, and fun as we can with the resources we have.
This is our play party, in celebration of our first anniversary. We’re celebrating trans kink, trans love, trans joy, and trans pleasure.
Expect:
- A warm environment with other kinky trans people
- A covid cautious event: 2024 or later covid booster required, masked bottom floor for accessible kink, and an unmasked, air filtered top floor for… other kinds of activities. Evaluate your risk tolerance accordingly, and choose your own adventure.
- A space to play and explore kink, sensuality and sexuality.
What to bring:
- Your own toy bag
- Your own safer sex supplies and bodily clean-up stuff
- Masks
- Proof of vaccination
- An openness to engage with the space
Attending the Play Party
We have 2 important requirements. Read carefully-
Point A:
Trans.ties is a covid-conscious group. For entrance to this party, you will need to have a COVID booster dated August 2024 or more recent. In addition to this, the bottom floor of the venue will have a mask requirement. Masks will be provided if you don’t have your own. The top floor will have the option to unmask. There will be air filters in the space.
We understand that for many, vaccination is more complicated than “just get a shot”. We know that vaccinations can mean time lost to immune responses – a particular challenge for parents and folks who are economically precarious. We know that trust in vaccines is impacted by a long legacy of medical racism, fatphobia, ableism, homophobia, and all of the ways in which institutions tend to amplify prejudice.
Vaccinations are not perfect, and they remain one of the best ways to care for each other. Thank you for helping us keep this space safer for those that need it most. We accept a large variety of documents as proof of vaccination.
Point B:
Cisgender people are welcomed at this party as the guest of a trans person. Trans.ties was built to celebrate trans people, and to maintain that mission, we want them centered at this party. With that said, we understand that trans people may want to bring cis friends and partners. Please arrive together if this describes you, and purchase the ticket that is most representative of your gender identity.
