Rosemaling Coast to Coast, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organized to celebrate the art of Norwegian rosemaling through a national organization that supports and enriches the artistic activities of the individual. Members study, paint, teach, and promote the love of rosemaling. The skillset is broad, from beginners to highly-skilled, award-winning artists. Formed in 2016, the organization began holding biennial conventions to promote, teach and appreciate the folk art of rosemaling. Description
Class description: Learn how to create transparent scrolls on borders. This is not a project class, but rather a class with basic S and C strokes using a filbert and a script liner where free-hand painting is encouraged. These techniques can be used in a variety of styles but are particularly good with transparent Telemark designs.
Class level: Intermediate
Class date and hours: Class will be on February 21, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM central time.
Medium being used : Jo Sonja Matte Flow Acrylics
Other mediums allowed: Lois began Rosemaling in oils, so she can discuss or answer questions about oil paints as you are working on the design.
Surface: Paper, practice surface or other surface of your choice
Supplies: supply list for Transparent Scrolls
Note about supplies: The class fee does not include the cost of supplies. This is the responsibility of the student.
Instructor: Lois Mueller, VGM
Instructor biography: Lois began painting in 1977 and teaching in 1979 at the Technical Collage in Appleton, WI. After moving from that area, I taught at Northland College in Ashland, WI. At that time, I began some travel teaching in Northern WI and Northeastern MN. After we moved to Platteville, WI, I began to travel teach in many areas of the US, Canada, and Taiwan.
Location: This is an online class hosted on Zoom. All technical requirements needed to join the class are the responsibility of the student. RCC virtual classes will be recorded. All classes are listed in the Central time zone.
