A new weekly music event serving you fresh takes on memorable tracks from the trip hop and acid jazz era, some unknown gems, and original live collaborations. Other genres including jazz, blues, r&b, and pop, delivered in a cozy lounge setting recalling speakeasy vibes.
Newly formed, LaVoya, is an unexpected mix of local music industry pros with multi-instrumentalist, Tiber Reardon, vocalist, Kelly McGuire, and DJ Slim Macho, bringing the beat on the decks as well as live percussion.
The sound is pared-down and relaxed but also experimental, mixing acoustic and electronic sounds in a show that will gather layers over time. Expect featured guests to appear on horns, strings, other instruments and vocals.
This is sure to grow into a popular regular night out, at an accessible and intimate venue on Duckworth, just around the corner from the busy George Street strip.
