Our mission is to empower LGBTQIA+ and women in comedy, arts and community. In an industry still heavily dominated by straight, white, cisgender men, we need opportunities created by and for us. We are not an LLC or nonprofit but rely on individual contributions.
In 2022, Lavender Laughs launched in New York City with shows and open mics. As of 2026, Lenape Lavender Laughs operates in Manhattan and Queens. We have sibling organizations in Kitchener-Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) and Chicago, each produced independently.
