Two Day Seminar with Dr. Ian Dunbar

If you've never attended a Dunbar seminar, you're in for a treat! Dr. Ian Dunbar is coming out of retirement for a special two-day seminar in Houston — his first time teaching here in 14 years.

Informative, creative, funny, and entertaining — this event is valuable for dog professionals and pet parents alike. You will not be disappointed.

What You'll Learn

This two-day seminar is based on the scientific training principles outlined in Dr. Dunbar's latest book Barking Up the Right Tree — quick, easy, effective, and completely non-aversive training methodologies for canine professionals.

Day 1 (November 14) comprises: using the antecedent arrangement to teach verbally-cued behaviors; phasing out the necessity of training tools (collars, halters, harnesses, food lures and food rewards); motivating with more powerful reinforcement schedules and life rewards; and teaching single-word non-aversive punishments.

Day 2 (November 15) focuses on practical proofing exercises to resolve common and predictable training problems and objectively testing Response-Reliability Percentages to monitor degree and speed of progress. A select group of dogs and handlers will join Dr. Dunbar for a live workshop demonstrating these techniques in real time.

PLEASE NOTE: This seminar is for people only. Please leave your pets at home.
