Description
The Corvallis Museum is no longer using timed-entry ticketing to limit the number of visitors in the building. Admission is still $5 for non-members on entry, and free to members, youth 18 and under, and students with ID. There are no reservations, and paid admission counts for the day (11:00-5:30).
We ask that you wear a mask at all times while you are in the museum due to the recent state mandate and uptick of Covid cases in the area, and please maintain a distance of at least 6' between your party and others. For those concerned about capacity, we have not been close to the 50 visitor limit for our building in the Low Risk category, so visiting the museum will continue to be a fairly low risk indoor activity. Galleries do not need to be viewed in order, so you may choose to skip ahead if a few groups come in at once.
While we are no longer taking reservations, if you organize large group visits for schools, nursing homes, or etc., we do appreciate if you are able to drop us a note with your intending visit dates, times, and approximate numbers. This will help us avoid large groups coming at the same time, that would diminish your museum experience. Please contact Patti Larkin, Curator of Education: Patti@bentoncountymuseum.org.
The Museum is ADA accessible and has an elevator. Food, beverages, and pets (with the exception of service animals) are not permitted in the museum. There is no cafe, but Downtown Corvallis offers many fine restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Please make use of the free coat check for your umbrella, bulky coats, bags, and backpacks larger than 11"x 14." Strollers are permitted, or can be checked. Photography and sketching (in pencil only) are allowed. Please be considerate of other visitors and silence mobile devices in the museum; if you need to use your phone, please step outside. The outside courtyard is accessible to visitors during business hours, and is an appropriate place for a phone call, snack, or to remove your mask.
All visits are currently self-guided and self-regulated, as our education and docent programs are temporarily on hold; we hope to have more resources available to you in the coming months. Please note that some items in our exhibits are interactive, and others have minimal barriers; we appreciate if you can help your mini museum-goers to interpret what is ok to touch. We hope to see you soon at the Corvallis Museum!
