Student musicians in the Chamber Orchestra, Urban Singers, and the Lab and Advanced Jazz Bands have been working hard and look forward to performing live and in-person for the entire Urban community in the brand-new Performing Arts and Community Center.
Saturday, December 14, 5:00 - 6:45 pm: Urban Singers and Chamber Orchestra
- The Chamber Orchestra will feature a guitar solo, part of a major symphonic work by Mozart, and favorites from the Nutcracker.
- Urban Singers will present a diverse music program that celebrates resilience, unity, and hope, some of which feature soloists.
Sunday, December 15, 5:00 - 6:45 pm: Lab and Advanced Jazz Bands
- Lab Band will feature music from Duke Ellington’s 1930s orchestra and perform a special tribute to the legendary composer Benny Golson.
Advanced Band will be featuring the music of bebop musician Bud Powell, free jazz artist Ornette Coleman, and solo features for many of our Senior musicians.
