Description

Ushaw Flower Festival will still continue to take place this weekend, following recent sad news.

Our spectacular Flower Festival is back between Friday 9th – Sunday 11th September this year as we celebrate everything that's great about County Durham!

As spaces are limited, book your timeslot in advance to avoid disappointment! Need support? Call us on 0191 373 8500.

The exciting talent of flower arrangers and florists from across the region are coming together to create a floral tour of County Durham; its heritage, culture, people and landscape. We'll have over 35 arrangements and installations which will take visitors on a journey through the County, all set within the beautiful environment of Ushaw.

Our dedicated team of almost 100 volunteers including professional florists, community groups, veterans, businesses and individuals representing their local areas, churches and flower groups, will bring together their creative skills to make Ushaw’s Flower Fest 2022 one to remember. An event for everyone, there will also be a garden trail for children with an opportunity to make decorative recycled flower pots with the wonderfully talented ecological artist Maggie Parker.

On the evening of Friday 9th September, Ushaw is delighted to host Jonathan Moseley, demonstrating his wonderful floral artistic skills. His show, Overture to Autumn will show how seasonal material can be used to create fantastic displays. You can get tickets for this here.

The evening of Saturday 10th September,  International Floral Artist Andrew Grisewood will be arriving on stage with his fabulous style of floral artistry, humour and glamour coming together to create a floral demonstration entitled Autumn’s Palette. You can get tickets for this here.

Ady Davis, Co-Ordinator for Ushaw’s Flower Fest 2022 says ‘ I am overwhelmed by the enthusiasm, creativity and skill of the people involved in creating the displays. We are extremely lucky to live in such a wonderful County in terms of its history, landscape and people, and not only is it exciting that it is being celebrated in flower form, but the fact that we have so many community groups and businesses who are willing to give up their time, share their talent and work together to create this festival is further testament to how brilliant County Durham is as a place to live, visit and work.
