Rosemaling Coast to Coast, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organized to celebrate the art of Norwegian rosemaling through a national organization that supports and enriches the artistic activities of the individual. Members study, paint, teach, and promote the love of rosemaling. The skillset is broad, from beginners to highly-skilled, award-winning artists. Formed in 2016, the organization began holding biennial conventions to promote, teach and appreciate the folk art of rosemaling. Description
Class description: This will be a great class for working on a stroke work and boarders for multiple styles. The stroke work will be similar across the different styles but the difference will come in the way each variation is detailed and how the detail enhances the style it represents. We will be looking at the following styles - Telemark, Hallingdal, Os and Vest Agder.
This class has 2 sessions. Class will run weekly for 2 weeks on Mondays. Monday April 13 and Monday April 20, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM central time

Medium being used : JoSonja paint.
Other mediums are allowed. Participants can use oil or other acrylic paint.
Surface: A surface of your choice – for example- painted Bristol board/Card board/ sketchbook.

Note about supplies: The class fee does not include the cost of supplies. This is the responsibility of the student.

Instructor biography: Lise Lorentzen’s journey with rosemaling began at the age of 11 when she attended her first class at a local Sons of Norway Lodge. Since then, her artwork has spread far and wide, gracing homes and collections across the U.S., Canada, Norway, and beyond. In 2024, she earned a prestigious gold medal in rosemaling from Vesterheim. Lise has had the privilege of learning from both Norwegian and American rosemaling masters, including an apprenticeship with Vesterheim Gold Medalist Eldrid Arntzen. Her nationally recognized work continues to inspire, and she passionately shares the beauty of rosemaling through commissions, galleries, social media, and teaching. Location: This is an online class hosted on Zoom. All technical requirements needed to join the class are the responsibility of the student. RCC virtual classes will be recorded. All classes are listed in the Central time zone.
