The Brighton & Hove Food Partnership's Community Kitchen is a cookery school where everyone can cook, learn new skills and enjoy food with others. We want everyone to experience the benefits of cooking and eating together. By paying for a cookery class, you help other people to attend cookery activities, regardless of finance, confidence or ability, and to make lasting changes to their lives.
Chef Kanthi brings the authentic tastes of South India to the Community Kitchen, sharing the cooking techniques and flavour combinations that have evolved over centuries so you can prepare a typical homestyle south Indian meal in Brighton.
You will work in pairs, and typically prepare a menu including dishes such as:
- butternut and sweet potato pulusu
- palak dhal
- green bean thoran
- jeera rice
Dietary information: This class is suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets. The menu is also gluten-free however we cannot guarantee the kitchen is a fully gluten-free environment. The class involves cooking with seeds. For any other allergies or dietary requirements, please contact us to discuss before booking.
