Learn how vintage postcards give us little known view of our favorite locations, with snapshots in time and real life stories from the senders. You'll also view Conifer Historical Society's personal collection of foothills postcards. This event will occur at CHSM's Little White Schoolhouse museum.

Vintage postcards are more than pictures of vacation destinations - they're snapshots in time, feature real life stories from the senders, and have changed over time. And they give us little known views of our favorite foothills locations. Dede Horan of Postcards n More will share her knowledge of how postcards started, how they evolved, and how to find your own personal treasure that connects with your past. The Conifer Historical Society will share their personal collection of postcards of our area: Conifer, Bailey, Deckers, Tiny Town, Evergreen and beyond!

The Mission of the Conifer Historical Society and Museum is to share the region's legacy by collecting, preserving and exhibiting historical and cultural materials.

Background Statement

One day, a group of Conifer residents was sitting around the dinner table together and the topic of history came up. "Do you remember who used to live on that house way down on Kuester Road? What about that old Cemetery off Pleasant Park Road? Do you know anything about that?" And so the discussion went, and The Conifer Historical Society and Museum was born. Incorporated in January 2009, we have grown and now call the former Conifer Junction Schoolhouse our home. Our purpose now is to share the region's legacy by collecting, preserving and exhibiting historical and cultural materials and provide public access to services, collections, exhibits and a research library.
