Please join Movementum Dance Project at our Season 5 fundraiser, Vino & Vibes: A Wine Tasting and Dance Celebration with Movementum Dance Project as we fundraise and celebrate our ongoing season and future endeavors as a company!
Your ticket includes a wine tasting with a tapas pairing, a preview performance by Movementum Dance Project, access to our exclusive silent auction, sky high views of Chicago, and of course connection and mingling with our MDP community.
*There will be non alcoholic options as well!
The fundraiser will be located in the Sky Lounge of 727 West Madison Street in the West Loop and will be from 7:00-9:00pm.
Please note that this is a 21+ event and in order to best prepare for this event, ticket sales will end on January 23rd.
ABOUT
Movementum Dance Project is a Chicago based dance company. Founded in 2021 by Marissa Kaufmann Shanbrom, Movementum strives to provide audience members with entertaining, uplifting, and powerful dance performances rooted in strong technical capabilities and connection with the audience. Movementum prides themselves in creating accessible work that all audience members, no matter how much experience they have in watching professional dance, to enjoy, be entertained, and appreciate.
Movementum Dance Project is in our 5th season and we need your help to make this season happen! During our milestone 5th season as a company, we are exploring the past 5 years as a company as we examine our growth and our future.
PASSAGES
Our Season 5 performance, Passages, will explore our time together as a company. Performing pieces from our repertoire throughout all 5 seasons, from pieces reimagined from our very first dance films, to brand new premiers, Passages will take audiences on a journey through 5 seasons of movement, connection, joy, and community.
For the second time, we will be inviting dancers from the community, both youth and adult groups, to perform with Movementum Dance Project. We will be providing them with a space to perform amongst professional dancers and we cannot wait to have them join us on stage and for them to take part of this opportunity!
TAKING MOVEMENTUM ON THE ROAD
From the very beginning of Movementum, one of our main goals was to take Movementum on the road and share our artistry with audiences beyond Chicago. This is something that we never could have imagined beginning during a pandemic, but the time has finally arrived! We could not be more excited to venture off to Boulder, Colorado where we will be performing our newest piece, "Who I'll Become", as a part of Versatility Dance Festival, at the Dairy Arts Center on January 18th 2025.
We have also been presented with the opportunity to perform at the World Dance Congress in Athens Greece this Summer! While it is our dream to perform overseas, we need the financial support to make this dream a reality and so we can represent our passion and talent on an international stage! It is our hope that this fundraiser will help us reach that goal!
We Need Your Support!
This season is our largest yet and we need your help to make it happen! Your support goes towards: Dancer stipends, costumes, theater rental, lighting/sound technician, stage manager, our photo shoot for promotional purposes, travel and accommodations on tour, and much more that is needed to make this season successful.
