In March, our beginner-skill class is Intro to Hand Sewing. If you have no previous hand sewing practice, we encourage you to sign up for that class (March 12, 6-8p) to gain some skills for your visible mend.
On Friday, March 13, from 6-8p, we will have Visible Mending club. No formal instruction is provided, but guidance on your mend will be available as needed. Some patching material and sewing and embroidery threads will be provided. As this session provides no formal instruction, it is best to attend a class to learn some sewing basics if you haven't threaded a needle before.. Please bring woven/nonstretchy items to mend. Stretchy, gauzy, or sweater fabrics will be challenging for newer menders. Reach out for a private lesson! (or sign up to Intro to Hand Sewing)
Please bring a garment or other fabric piece to work on your mending skills.

Lex Center for Creative Reuse is a nonprofit brick and mortar creative reuse center located in Lexington, KY. A wide and constantly changing array of art and craft supplies are available for sale. Proceeds benefit supply grants for public school teachers, subsidize providing low-cost, high-value art and craft classes, and creating vibrant and engaging opportunities for community art.
