A Farmington, Maine native, Briana DeSanctis took 2 years to trek from the Atlantic to the Pacific across America on foot, alone. She had a goal to accomplish: To become the first woman to solo thru-hike the 6,800-mile American Discovery Trail. Briana carried everything she needed in her backpack, hiking through many types of terrain, in all four seasons, through 15 states. While she hardly met other hikers on this lesser-known trail, the kindness of unassuming locals across the country was something Briana never expected. Briana completed her American Discovery Trail hike and smashed her goal when she walked into the Pacific Ocean on Feb. 10, 2024. Briana's mission is to inspire others and empower young women to move forward and create their own life-changing adventures.
For the first time visiting her hometown in almost 3 years, Briana is proud to represent her home state, and will excite you with tales about her arduous journey, highlighting the ups, downs, challenges, and what made her keep going.
