Description

In-person

This Jane’s Walk, taking place in Midtown, focuses on themes of environment.

This relaxed yet insightful walk led by Jodi Mansbach, urban planner and Chair of Chattahoochee NOW, promises to open your mind to the hidden wisdom of everyday surroundings. Street Wisdom is a global movement founded in England and now led by volunteer guides all over the world. It’s an everyday creative practice you use as you walk to tune into your surroundings and yourself.

You’ll be encouraged to slow down, pay attention to your surroundings, and use the environment to find answers to questions or insights into personal challenges. We’ll be tapping into the wisdom of the streets and seeing everyday places with fresh eyes. Whether you seek clarity on a pressing question, inspiration for a new project, or simply a deeper connection with the world around you, this creative practice is easy to learn and hard to forget.

About Jane's Walk

Jane’s Walk is an annual global festival honoring the legacy of urbanist, activist, and writer Jane Jacobs with free, citizen-led walking tours through the neighborhoods that lend so much character to our cities.

The festival promotes civic engagement and encourages leaders and participants to share stories about their communities and use walking as a means of connecting with their neighbors.

About the Leader of This Walk

Jodi Lox Mansbach is a creative and strategic leader who inspires people and organizations to re-think what’s possible. She brings her strong facilitation skills to groups looking to create brave spaces where people can come together for deep collective listening, understanding and to make small and bold powerful shifts that can transform organizations and communities. She also delights in creating physical spaces which she does as Principal of PlayLark Studio, part of the Living Playgrounds Collective that re-imagines playgrounds as nature-based environments where children can thrive.

Jodi worked with the City of Atlanta to launch Atlanta City Studio, its first pop-up urban design center incubating new ideas about the design of the City and engaging the community in the process. Previously she was Vice President of Development and Construction at Jamestown, a real estate investment and management company. As an urban planner, Jodi was involved in the firm’s New Urbanist development and adaptive reuse projects including Ponce City Market where she led the design of Skyline Park, the rooftop entertainment project. At Jamestown, Jodi also served as Sustainability Director and started and ran the Jamestown Charitable Foundation.
