Description
At the present time, only Warhammer Age of Sigmar Spearhead, Warhammer 40000 Combat Patrol, and Kill Team matches for league registrants will be permitted. This event will allow for booking of appointments for league matches. Each league will be 6-8 weeks long with 3 matches each. Other leagues may be considered in the future.
Though this will be competitive, it will still be somewhat casual with the expectation that some players will be entirely new and others more experienced. The primary goals are: 1) meet others who play the games 2) learn how to play better and more competitively, 3) have fun. At a future date, another round of league play or a small tournament will be scheduled with more interesting awards, but first I want to give everyone a change to learn and improve in the game.
Fees will need to be paid directly at the Boardgames 4 Us store or via e-transfer.
Fees will be $20 for each league ($20 for 1, $40 for 2, and $60 for 3).
The fees will be used to cover costs for support for the leagues, primarily prizing and Organized Play sets.
There may be times where a demo or training/learning event may be scheduled during unutilized appointments.
Each league will have 3 matches. Depending on the number registered for each (minimum 4 and maximum 8), they will be set up as either Swiss for more than 4 players and round robin for 3 players.
Awards will be provided to:
- Winner (most wins)
- Runner up (2nd most)
- Best player/army (as voted by other players) - not Winner or Runner up.
The prizes will be in the form of store credit in the form of loyalty points that can be used for future purchases.
Rules that will be used are those included in the core rules books for the newest set of rules for each game under Spearhead, Combat Patrol, Kill Team.
Matches can be played anywhere, any time, but space will be available to book on specific dates and times. Details will follow. Pairing for each match will be provided 2 weeks in advance of the deadline for the game.
Players are responsible to have access to rules, properly identifiable armies/teams that are compliant with the rules. Spearheads can be found either in the associated apps, core rules or the faction's Battletome, Combat Patrols can be found in the core rules or recent faction Codex, Kill Teams can be found for download from the app or in the Downloads section. These can be printed off or access from the appropriate app.
Players will need to have a properly assembled and identifiable loadouts. At this time, painting is not mandatory, but is highly encouraged. Players should complete a sheet with what their team/army is comprised of, should bring their own dice, rulers, and applicable equipment required for their game.
Ideally, one of the players will have appropriate terrain for the match. If not, the terrain can be rented for the match from Boardgames 4 Us. A table will need to be booked from the schedule based on an agreed date and time from their opponent. If that date/time does not work, it can be rescheduled within that 2 week timeframe. There will be a few dates and times during the 2 weeks. Sometimes, it may be 3 weeks.
