Longer dry spells and hotter summers are becoming a reality for community gardens across Brighton & Hove. But gardeners are already finding creative ways to adapt.
Join volunteers and community garden leaders from across Brighton and Sussex for an evening of ideas, inspiration and practical solutions for gardening with less water.
During the evening you'll:
🌱 Hear from two inspiring speakers working on climate-smart growing approaches
💧 Learn practical techniques for reducing and capturing water, soil health, using waste materials, moisture retention and increasing resilience
🤝 Exchange ideas and network with volunteers and community gardens from across the area
🌻 Develop a shared bank of solutions that can help gardens flourish with less water
Speakers are Ben Szobody from Rock Farm and Susie Howells from Moulsecoomb Forest Garden
Following the talks, we'll come together in a facilitated workshop to share experiences and brainstorm ideas that are already working in our community gardens.
This event is for anyone involved in a community garden, green wellbeing or food-growing project.
Whether you're managing a large community growing site or helping out in a local garden, you'll leave with practical tools and new connections.
This event is brought to you by Brighton & Hove Food Partnership and Brighton & Hove Community Gardens Network
Soup & refreshments will be provided.
