Description

Wesley Allen & the Modern August is…

Wesley Allen Whittaker: a contemporary Indie-Folk-Americana artist living in the hills of Northern Arkansas. He creates captivating song structures through guitar, bass & drums--with a dash of soulful harmonica--resulting in an unforgettable one-man-band experience. Currently, he is working on his sophomore album following his acclaimed debut album, “Way of the Buffalo,” which reached #1 on iTunes Americana album sales as reported by countrychart.com.  Those who have seen one of his live shows have been impressed with the depth of his songwriting, which blends his folksy charm with pop sensibilities and insightful, autobiographical lyrics that convey a hard-won wisdom. These core elements are tied together by emotional storytelling and evocative, soulful vocals.

When not performing, Wesley and his wife Amber spend their time raising their three children. An avid cyclist, he also spends time on the trails in the woods, and during the daylight hours, he teaches AP English and Civics courses at Valley Springs High School.

The Nest

A Small Venue for Big Dreams

When Tom and Andrea Brett opened a beautiful new medical office in the heart of Branson, they noticed a special conference room that wasn't living up to its potential. As musicians and songwriters, and hosts to many "jam jams" in the basement of their own home, they began to envision this space as a venue for aspiring artists who might be intimidated by large stages, but need a place to hone their craft. They also realized that there are many professional musicians who would love a small, intimate place to share their music - where they could be more personal with their audience. Inspired by the rustic decor of their beautiful clinic in the Ozarks, and the concept of a nest being a place to be nurtured in, fly away from, and return to, the name "The Nest," was born.
