From indigenous medicine and colonial treatments, to mental health, eugenics, cancer and birth control—this one-day interactive display offers a riveting sampling of Whitney Library's sources on medicine in the Elm City. “Anatomy of Progress: New Haven's Medical History “ will center on the chronology of the city’s health, and include important sites and figures, such as Yale New Haven Hospital, Clifford Beers, and The Mary Wade Home. The collection highlights the crucial role the city played in driving medical innovations, social reforms, and policy changes in health. The Whitney Library in the New Haven Museum is open to anyone interested in the past of the city of New Haven. With tens of thousands of documents, books, and archives, the Whitney Library is the most expansive collection of New Haven texts in the city.
