Session Two
Workshop from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Train ride and seed ball toss from 2:00 PM - 3:00
Guests of all ages are invited to learn about native wildflowers, pollinators, and land restoration through an interactive seed ball making workshop using natural materials and locally appropriate seeds. This introductory experience provides insight into how seed balls support healthy ecosystems while offering a fun and approachable way to participate in environmental care.
To create a relaxed and engaging experience for everyone, the workshop is offered in two separate sessions, each limited to approximately 40 participants. In both sessions, guests will begin with the seed ball workshop and educational presentation, then continue the experience aboard a scenic train ride. During the ride, participants will toss pre made seed balls along the historic railway corridor, helping wildflowers take root as spring approaches.
The program also features an educational presentation by Sustainable Solano focused on local ecosystems and sustainable practices, along with floral inspired art displays and select artwork for purchase by the Fairfield Suisun City Visual Arts Association.
Each participant will create seed balls to take home and plant, extending the impact of the day beyond the museum grounds. Guests are encouraged to return during Spring Trains to see the wildflowers bloom, creating a meaningful connection between planting today and experiencing the beauty of the season to come!
