Looking for an easy way to get more veggies on your plate? Want to incorporate pro-biotic foods into your home-cooked meals? Learn how to turn carrots, radishes, cabbage and other winter bounty into flavor bombs you will come to crave.

During this workshop participants will make 2 quarts of lacto-fermented organic vegetables and leave with fermentation vessels to make more at home. We will provide produce, herbs, spices and premium quality sea salt as well as professional tools that make the food prep involved easy and enjoyable. No previous cooking or fermentation skills required. This is a great class for beginners as well as intermediate level fermentation nerds looking to deepen their knowledge and confidence in making consistently delicious ferments safely.

Moon Valley Farm CSA members receive a 10% discount.

Workshop fee includes all necessary materials, a printed guide, samples of LARDER ferments and a warm herbal infusion.

The workshop will be held indoors, masks will be worn at all times, except for brief moments when we are tasting things. Please do not attend if you are experiencing COVID symptoms or have been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID.

LARDER looks to pre-industrial food preservation as a foundation for a menu based in seasonal ingredients. We combine peak-harvest produce from regional farms with culinary influences from travels in Europe, Mexico and the Middle East. We source humanely raised meat and collaborate with small Maryland farms to offer the most delicious varietals of produce. We occasionally offer workshops, talks and ticketed dinners... like this one!
