Ever wanted to learn how to identify native flora, build a structure, use a chainsaw, or weld – with a bunch of Pagans? You’ll love WorkEnds.

Throughout the year, the Ranch Team (led by the Ranch Manager), will schedule and organize maintenance tasks at SHR over a weekend… thus the name “WorkEnd.” It’s anything and everything needed to maintain SHR and it’s buildings, from re-roofing a structure to organizing the tool shed to painting buildings and making sure everyone is hydrated… you name it. Those who may have physical limitations or various forms of disability are totally welcome; there is always something for everyone to do! While we certainly put the Work in WorkEnds, we have a ton of fun, too! Make lasting connections with your team, dance to the drums around the campfires at night, and yell “ONE TEAM” – an affirmation of the work we’re doing and the appreciation for those doing it with us.

Expect to work hard, play hard, and camp under the stars. Bring your camping gear, sturdy shoes and gloves, LOTS OF WATER, sunscreen and bug spray, and a drum if you have one!

We tackle a wide variety of projects, including:

  • Working with foresters and soil specialists to encourage and protect our native ecology
  • Repairing ranch tools
  • Building and improving new structures
  • Maintaining and improving Sacred Spaces
  • Improving accessibility around the ranch

******Main SHR Workend tasks******

  • Repainting of the Front Gate building (Weather permitting).
  • Starting cutting Wood for Beltane Festival.

  • In order to get an accurate headcount for the workends we need to get an accurate "Going" vs. "Not Going" or "Maybe" count........ "In Spirit" is unfortunately not an option.....

    Workend Requirements and Information:
  • Sign in at the Mat's Healing Station upon your arrival! Please check with ranch staff to see if your waiver is up to date or just sign one and be done with it for the year! In the event of an emergency, we need to know you are on the land.
  • Join Sara at 8am by the guardian fire pit for a quick safety & task meeting on Saturday morning. This is where you obtain team workend goals, assignments, and sign the attendance roster(If you haven't already.). This is also your platform to express ideas, concerns, or improvements to the team for consideration.
  • The gate will be open at 3PM on Friday and close at 2PM on Sunday. Please plan on being off the property by closing time.
  • You are welcome to come out for a day trip as well. Mathew's Healing Station will be available, first come, first serve if you don't want to set up a tent. It fills up fast so have a back up tent/plan.  No pets in Med station.
  • This is a pack it in, pack it out event; plan accordingly! Any and all trash you produce needs to leave with you, including what you produce during meals or night-time fireside festivities! We must do better to reduce our environmental imprint! Please take responsibility for the trash you generate!

******Policy Reminders:******

  • All dogs must remain leashed.
    Please remember that pets are like kids, you're responsible for their care, keeping, and behavior.
  • Guests will be allowed to attend two Workends, after which time, they will need to become members in order to enjoy member benefits, such as attending further workends.
  • Everyone needs to sign in @ the Med Station upon arrival, for safety accountability.

Everyone is responsible for the trash they produce. If it came with you, it must leave with you.


Don’t forget water, sunscreen, bug spray, boots, and gloves!
And please dress accordingly for working outside in the woods.....


Bring your drums, dancing feet, and your seat for Ranch style family festivities around the campfire-rings on Friday and Saturday night!
