Description
Sir Wilfrid Robarts, an aging barrister recovering from a heart attack, reluctantly agrees to defend Leonard Vole, accused of murdering a wealthy widow who made him her primary beneficiary. Vole’s only alibi lies with his wife Christine, but shockingly she appears in court not for the defense, but as a surprise witness for the prosecution—setting off a courtroom battle of deception, betrayal, and hidden motives. Over the course of the trial, Sir Wilfrid uncovers a web of intrigue, disguise, and double-crosses.
