A workshop, dinner and R&R performance hosted by River & Rail Theatre Co. for women leaders in Knoxville.
2pm - 5pm: If you've ever attended a board meeting, a contract negotiation, or a networking event and left feeling like you weren't your best or fullest self, or like you were expected to be smaller than you are, then you aren't alone! Women's Wrk is all about exploring tools actors use to make themselves seen, heard and received by their audience. Together we will practice applying these tools to how we can show up as our full selves, even in a male-dominated work environment. This workshop will be led by Amelia Peterson and Katy Wolfe - artists, educators, and leaders at River & Rail Theatre Co. The workshop will focus on how we show up in our work spaces as we incorporate breath, voice, and expansiveness in our bodies through actor training exercises.
5pm-7pm: Private dinner at the RED Gallery to get to know your cohorts and swap stories about work, life, and creative endeavors.
7:30pm: Attend River & Rail Theatre Co.'s latest production: SWEAT by Lynn Nottage, directed by Laura Dupper.
A limited number of scholarships are available, please contact us at tickets@riverandrailtheatre.com for more information.
About the Performance: SWEAT Lynn Nottage’s SWEAT centers on a group of friends at their go-to bar in Reading, Pennsylvania. In the year 2000, layoffs and lockouts threaten their factory floor jobs, thrusting them into a bitter fight for survival.
WARNING: This production contains violence, alcohol abuse, and racial slurs.
