Description

Join us for another Words of Paradise Speaker Series for a discussion on the West's disappearing ski town culture. Audiences will be treated with a premiere of the new short film When Dishwashers Were Kings, and a reading from the award winning Powder Days by author Heather Hansman.

Brent Englund (Director) is Boston born, New Hampshire raised, Brent found the mountains of Colorado over 30 years ago. He has been in Telluride for nearly 25 years living the ski bum life. Ski bum, soccer coach, and storyteller. Brent wants to tell the story of a town that has shaped him and a way of life that is on the verge of extinction.

Hayley Nenadal (Producer) puts film, outdoors, and activism first (and in that order).  Spending the last 20 years working at Sundance, Telluride, Mountainfilm, Mill Valley Film Festival and others Hayley has a strong background in programming, operations and film production.  Her goal is to make a difference in this great big world with powerful stories, which has influenced her journey to EarthX Film, where she worked most recently with her experienced team to build a community that supports an environmental film movement in Dallas, TX.

Heather Hansman (Author) is the award-winning, best-selling author of Powder Days and Downriver and the forthcoming book Fierce Country. Her work has appeared in The New York Time, The Atlantic, Outside, among others. She lives in Durango, Colorado, right by the river.
