Please note: class starts at 430 pm and will be a bit longer than the typical bookbinding class to provide time for box building.
In this month’s bookbinding class, join us in learning how to create the Slip Case book, a book in a storage box. In this class, participants will learn how to make a modified hardcover book and how to build the slip case it will live in. Instruction will be for 2 books - a horizontal and vertical orientation book.
No bookbinding experience needed. All materials supplied but participants are welcome to bring any ephemera, paper, etc that they’d like to use. Participants should leave class with one book/case completed, along with an instruction sheet for future use.
Tickets must be purchased online at least 12 hours before workshop. No walk-ins. Space is limited. Tickets are non refundable so please plan accordingly before purchasing. Please have email confirmation / ticket readily available upon arrival. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please note that photographs will be taken throughout this workshop. These may be used by Spare Parts for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media or in any third party publication. This workshop is eligible for NEISD Teacher's Choice continuing Education Hours. To obtain a certificate please ask a team member for one during the workshop.
