This evening of One Acts explores the theme of WORTH through three distinct yet interconnected stories. Together, they examine how human value can be denied, recognized, or revealed under pressure—and how fragile our awareness of that worth can be. Moving from historical tragedy to intimate encounter to imminent catastrophe, the program asks a simple but urgent question: if human worth is inherent and constant, why do we so often fail to live as though it is?
A Moment in Time
This intimate drama focuses on how worth is affirmed through recognition. A single, ordinary interaction becomes transformative when one person truly sees another. The play reminds us that affirming someone’s value does not require heroism—only presence, attention, and empathy.
I Never Saw Another Butterfly
Set among the children of Terezín, this play confronts a system designed to erase human value. Through art, poetry, and imagination, young lives deemed disposable assert their inherent worth. The piece affirms that even lives cut short possess immeasurable value—and that remembering them is an act of moral restoration.
The Midnight Sun
As catastrophe looms and time runs out, comfort and illusion fall away. Characters are forced to confront what—and who—truly matters when the future is no longer guaranteed. In this final piece, human worth becomes immediate, personal, and undeniable, revealed most clearly when everything else is stripped away.
