Description
Here's a chance to shoo away the winter blues with an afternoon writing workshop with Minda Honey -- using color as inspiration! Minda will lead this creative exercise at the FRIEDAcommunity table on Saturday, January 31. We hope you'll come!
Have you ever fallen in love with a color? Books like Imani Perry's "Black in Blues" and Maggie Nelson's "Bluets" map the writer's infatuation with their favorite color. During this workshop, you'll have an opportunity to write and share about how color moves you.
Space for this event is VERY LIMITED. If you sign up and are not able to attend, please let us know so we can open up the spot for another participant.
Looking forward seeing you here,
Your FRIEDAcommunity team
Minda’s essays on politics and relationships have appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Washington Post, the Guardian, the Oxford American, Teen Vogue, and Longreads. Her work is featured in “Burn It Down: Women Writing About Anger”, “A Measure of Belonging: 21 Writers of Color on the New American South”, and “Sex and the Single Woman: 24 Writers Reimagine Helen Gurley Brown’s Cult Classic.” Her debut memoir, THE HEARTBREAK YEARS, is a hilarious and intimate portrait of a Black woman finding who she is and who she wants to be, one bad date at a time.
