Introducing the 2023 Enlightening The Dark Theatre Company production, You'll Find Me There | Duration: 3 Hours

Everyone craves a sense of belonging. We all seek some semblance of normal, especially as we grow up and establish who we want to be. We use our imaginations to compensate for the imperfections and we hold onto memories that ground our reality. For Presley-Ann Holister, comfort is found in the places you find her - a room with windows, the swingset in the park, and surrounded by her friends. “Home” is a place that she longs for, but a concept that she hasn’t fully embraced.

Presley is a strong and resilient teenager stuck in the midst of very difficult circumstances. She has been removed from her mother by child protective services and is placed in a foster home with the Elton family. The Eltons prove to be a quirky but warm family, full of their own stories and an inclination to love whoever walks through the doors of their home.

As Presley comes to grips with the pain of her past, she must look deep within and learn to accept her past and come to understand the child that she once was. Presley finds herself experiencing grief and learning to cope with fear, anger, and resentment while being immersed in a place of laughter, acceptance, and hope. The people that she meets along the way, pave the path toward the healing and joy that Presley has been searching for all along.

“You’ll Find Me There” is an innovative off-broadway style production with creative and modern visuals tied to a nostalgic love of the childhood imagination.

Enlightening The Dark

The title “Enlightening the Dark” comes from the idea that darkness exists in various forms. Sometimes it’s heartache and pain, other times it’s abuse and hate, it can even be ignorance and judgement. Regardless of the circumstances, we believe that light always casts out darkness and EN-lightening the individuals involved, brings empowerment and hope. It is our goal to confront the darkness that youth face by enlightening them through truth and the strength to tell their stories. We raise awareness about important issues and strive to gain wisdom as we embrace our gifts and shortcomings. The main aspect of "darkness" that we hope to learn from is that of stories untold or misunderstood.
