Description
Join other Temple Judea families with young children for our Yom Kippur Youth & Family Experience.
This Yom Kippur observance is designed for children ages 9 and younger.
About the Day:
We'll begin at about 10am. Please note: Temple Judea's north parking lot is for members only and will likely be full due to the 9am services in the Goor Sanctuary. If so, overflow parking is available on the street, or at St. Paul's United Methodist Church (on the corner of Lindley Ave. and Burbank Blvd.).
At 10:00am, all adults and children will gather together in the Social Hall for an opening intention setting and singing with Rabbi Rosenstein.
At about 10:20, children 6 and younger - plus their adult(s)- will head into the courtyard and classroom area for an adventure through Yom Kippur led by members of our Religious School and ECC education team. NOTE: Some of the experiential activities for the younger students use markers, crayons, water, etc., so please dress accordingly.
At about 10:20, children 6 and older - and their adult(s) will stay in the Kritzberg Pavilion for a continued, age-appropriate Yom Kippur service. We'll sing, pray & reflect, and unroll the Torah, while sharing blessings for a fresh start in our New Year.
At about 11:20, we'll all gather back in the courtyard for a community shofar blast to mark this Holy Day season. We look forward to marking this important day in the Jewish calendar with you all.
