In this outrageous clown extravaganza, space explorer Zoog Dabbity crash lands to Earth and
must harness the power of the Squeeb to save humanity. Fresh off a successful run at the 2024 Hollywood Fringe Festival, where the show was nominated
for best musical performance, Zoog Dabbity comes to Reno as part of the 2025 Artown Festival and
transforms Brüka Theater’s intimate playing space into an intergalactic party. In Los Angeles, audiences
raved about a “...funky, colorful, far out, and fun as hell...” night at the theater and called solo performer
Zack Reimers “... the four-way love child of Andy Kaufman, Robin Williams, Gallagher, and Mel Torme!”
This one hour long solo show features Los Angeles-based clown Zack Reimers in a tour-de-force
musical and physical comedic performance playing the alien Zoog Dabbity who has crash-landed on
Earth. In order to get back home, Zoog must use his scat-singing skills, ridiculous cardboard props, and
audience interactions to help repair his spaceship. As Zoog builds an entire musical soundscape from
electronic loops and his own voice in front of us, live, you might start to wonder just what exactly is this
mysterious life force called ‘squeeb’? One translation is... laughter. And Zoog Dabbity definitely generates
a lot of it, along with a poignant reminder of the universal need for connection.
This night of clowning at Brüka Theater also features Reno local Tesia Jankowski performing as
The Great Shamé, an absurd illusionist who has taken hold of the mind of a beloved magician, Tozy.
Directed by Natasha Mercado, this solo performance is traditional magic meets modern clown... with a
dash of drag and puppetry. The Great Shamé captivated Reno audiences in February at the Restless
Artist Theater in Sparks and had the Reno Arts News raving “Terrific... filled with self-discovery and
revelations.”
Don’t miss your chance to see these two solo clown shows together on Saturday July 27 at 7:30
and Sunday July 28 at 2PM, at Bruka Theater, as part of the 30th annual Artown summer arts festival in
Reno, Nevada. Artown consists of over 500 events throughout the region during the entire month of July.
PG-13: Recommended for mature audiences due to adult themes & language
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:
Zack Reimers is a physical and musical performer with a background in clown, mime, bouffon,
and funk. His favorite meal is pot roast and mashed potatoes.
Tozy is thrilled to bring her show “The Curious Revelations and Astounding Insights of the Great
Shamé” to Artown and Brüka Theatre. A lifelong performer, she began studying magic, improv, acting,
writing, and clowning about six years ago. Since then, she has been an active part of the Reno theatre
scene, appearing in numerous local productions and performing regularly at Reno Improv, including with
the clown trio “Cosmic Candy” and the Spanish-language improv team “La Dulce Vida.” In the summer of
2024, she began developing her solo show, which explores shame and the peculiar journey of a mistake.
She brought on Natasha Mercado to direct and co-devise the work, whose vision and collaboration
helped shape it into what it is today—an absurd, raunchy and poignant piece which blends traditional
magic and modern clown.
