Sunday, August 30th at The Parkway Theater!
Pittsburgh's 21st Annual Can't Stop the Serenity Charity Screening
No power in the 'verse can stop the Rivers & Bridges Brigade of the Pennsylvania Browncoats from holding Pittsburgh's 21st annual Can't Stop the Serenity charity screening on Sunday, August 30th at the Parkway Theater in McKees Rocks, PA.
There will also be drawings, including a shiny "door prize" and a special drawing for those who are seeing the film for the first time. Prior to the showing of the “Big Damn Movie,” there will be time to socialize and play Serenity-themed carnival-style games to win even more shiny prizes. Doors will open at 1pm, and the movie will begin at approximately 2:30pm. (Make sure to arrive as close to 1pm as possible to have ample time to play the games and enter the drawings!) Food and drink will be available for purchase!
Those who make a minimum $10 donation will receive admission and an entry in the "door-prize" drawing (and a special drawing for first-time viewers, if appropriate). All proceeds from this year's event will be split evenly between The Stuttering Foundation and K9s For Warriors.
Since 2006, Pittsburgh’s Can’t Stop the Serenity events have raised over $19,000 for various local, national, and international charities and contributed to a global CSTS effort that has raised over $1.35 million! Last year's event raised $1,177.67 for Equality Now and the American Legion’s “Be The One” initiative, and with your help, we hope to raise even more this year!
If you are unable to attend but would still like to support the cause, click here for a donation-only option! (Click on "buy tickets.")
Can’t Stop the Serenity Pittsburgh is sponsored by Geek Frontiers and Jump Cut Pgh. For more information about this year’s event, visit the CSTS page of the Rivers and Bridges Brigade website.
