Two tickets, worked out.

A $5 ticket, or anything below it

SimpleTix: a flat 25¢.
Brushfire: 75¢ on their Attractions and Education tiers, $1.05 for churches over 1,500 weekly attendance, and $1.55 on Other Events. Churches under 1,500 a week pay $299/month instead of a per-ticket fee.

At or below $5 we cost less per ticket than every per-ticket Brushfire tier. Their $299/month church plan costs less above about 1,196 tickets a month.

A $35 ticket on their Other Events tier

SimpleTix: 79¢ + 2% = $1.49.
Brushfire: $1.50 + 1% = $1.85.

Thirty-six cents less on a mid-priced ticket.

Brushfire tier rates as published November 4, 2026: Attractions and Education 75¢ per ticket and Other Events $1.50 + 1%, each “+ credit card fees”; Churches & Ministries $299/mo under 1,500 weekly attendance and $1 + 1% per ticket over it, each “+ credit card processing fees.” Brushfire sets fees by industry. Both columns exclude card processing. Full methodology in the sources note below.

Tickets $5 and under 25¢ flat. 75¢ on Attractions and Education; $1.05 or $1.55 on the per-ticket tiers that add 1%; or $299/month, with no per-ticket fee, for churches under 1,500 weekly attendance.

Brushfire’s billing terms also state that a discounted attendee, “even 100%,” is still charged the paid-attendee fee, calculated against the original price. Nothing here states or implies that Brushfire cannot run reserved-seating, timed-entry, nonprofit, multi-day, recurring or box-office events, or events of any size.

Frequently asked questions

Q1How much does SimpleTix cost?
A 79¢ + 2% platform fee per paid ticket, capped at $9.99. Tickets $5 and under are a flat 25¢, and on-site tickets are 25¢ each. Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits pay 71¢ + 2%, also capped at $9.99, on request with proof of status. Payment processing is separate and billed by the processor you connect. No setup fees, no monthly fees, no contracts.
Q2Where does SimpleTix cost less than Brushfire?
Every ticket at or below $5 against their per-ticket tiers, where our flat 25¢ compares with 75¢ on Attractions and Education and more on the others. (Their $299/month plan for churches under 1,500 weekly attendance has no per-ticket fee, and costs less than 25¢ a ticket above about 1,196 tickets a month.) And on their Other Events tier, a $35 ticket carries $1.49 in platform fees with us against $1.85.
Q3What does “often negotiated” mean in practice?
It means the number on their pricing page may not be the number you are billed. Their billing terms state that the fixed amount and percentage “are often negotiated on a per organization and per event basis,” and that the rate in force “can be seen in detail on the ‘Billing’ tab in the dashboard for that event.” The aggregated rate is also on its R900 Billing Summary report, and Brushfire emails you and your billing contact whenever your fee structure changes.
Q4How do I switch?
Switching is self-serve: create a free account, build your next event, and point your website and social links at the new page.

Sources, methodology and substantiation

All Brushfire information here comes from official Brushfire pages accessed November 4, 2026 — its pricing page and its published Billing Terms. Brushfire sets fees by industry and publishes five tier cards; the rates quoted are those cards as displayed on the access date. Brushfire has revised its pricing page before, so these figures are current only as of the access date. The per-ticket tiers are quoted “+ credit card fees” and the Churches & Ministries tiers “+ credit card processing fees.” Brushfire’s Billing Terms state that the rate in force is shown on each event’s Billing tab and on the R900 Billing Summary report, and that any change to an organization’s fee structure is emailed to it and its billing contact.

Comparisons are our own arithmetic on Brushfire’s published rates, comparing platform fees only, since both platforms bill card processing separately. SimpleTix fees shown are platform fees; free GA and Flex Pass tickets are free, and reserved-seating free tickets and comps cost 25¢ each.
