SimpleTix vs Humanitix

On its default gateway, Humanitix pays you after your event ends. With us, you get paid as you sell.

On their default gateway, payouts land within 5 business days after the event, unless you request a manual payout or connect Stripe instead. On SimpleTix, money goes straight to your own account.

No setup fees. No monthly fees. No contracts. Free to sign up.

Two places you pay less at standard rates.

A $35 general-admission ticket

SimpleTix: 79¢ + 2% = $1.49, plus $1.36 standard Square processing. ≈ $2.85.
Humanitix: 5% + $1.29 = $3.04, inclusive of processing.

Less on the most ordinary ticket — and the money lands in your account as you sell.

100 card sales at your door, $20 each

SimpleTix: 25¢ × 100 = $25.00 in platform fees, plus $67.00 standard Square in-person processing. ≈ $92.00.
Humanitix: 3% + $1 per paid ticket = $1.60 each, $160.00 on 100.

At the door the gap is not close.

Humanitix rates as published November 4, 2026: US standard 5% + $1.29 per paid ticket, stated to be inclusive of payment processing on the default gateway; US box office 3% + $1 per paid card ticket. SimpleTix figures add standard Square processing, since ours is billed separately: 2.9% + 30¢ online and 2.6% + 15¢ in person. For registered nonprofits, Humanitix’s 3.9% + $1.29 rate costs less than our 71¢ + 2% nonprofit rate plus Square processing on tickets above about $24.50. Full methodology in the sources note below.

Frequently asked questions

Q1How much does SimpleTix cost?
A 79¢ + 2% platform fee per paid ticket, capped at $9.99. Tickets $5 and under are a flat 25¢, and on-site tickets are 25¢ each. Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits pay 71¢ + 2%, also capped at $9.99, on request with proof of status. Payment processing is separate and billed by the processor you connect. No setup fees, no monthly fees, no contracts.
Q2When does each platform actually pay me?
SimpleTix never holds your money: you connect Square, Stripe, PayPal or Authorize.net and buyers pay into your own merchant account, so funds arrive on your processor’s schedule while the event is still selling. Humanitix states that on its default gateway “event payouts are automatically made within 5 business days after the event’s completion date,” and that you can request a manual payout by contacting its team, subject to approval. Organizers who connect Stripe instead are paid into their Stripe account.
Q3What does each platform charge at the door?
SimpleTix charges 25¢ per on-site ticket. Humanitix publishes 3% + $1 per paid ticket at the box office — $1.60 on a $20 ticket, or $160 across 100 card sales, against about $92 on SimpleTix with standard Square in-person processing included.
Q4How do I switch?
Switching is self-serve: create a free account, build your next event, and point your website and social links at the new page.

Sources, methodology and substantiation

All Humanitix information here comes from official Humanitix pages accessed November 4, 2026, with rates quoted from the visible fee tables in its help centre rather than its pricing page. Its pricing page itemises the same standard rate as a 2.1% + $0.99 booking fee plus 2.9% + $0.30 processing.

Payout timing is quoted from Humanitix’s payment processing options and payout articles and describes its default gateway; Humanitix also states that organizers can request a manual payout, subject to approval, and that Stripe can replace its gateway and pay organizers directly. Humanitix publishes a U.S. rate of 3.9% + $1.29 per paid ticket for registered not-for-profit and charity organizations. The door example includes card processing on both sides and assumes all 100 sales are by card: Humanitix’s 3% + $1 box-office fee, and Square’s standard in-person rate of 2.6% + 15¢ on the $20 tickets for SimpleTix, which Square publishes for tap, dip or swipe payments on its Free plan. Worked examples are static illustrations in which the buyer pays the fees; SimpleTix figures add Square’s standard online rate of 2.9% + 30¢ on the ticket price plus platform fee, because unlike the Humanitix booking fee ours excludes processing. Square publishes 2.9% + 30¢ as its “Online API” rate on all of its plans, which is the rate for online payments taken through an integrated ticketing platform. SimpleTix fees shown are platform fees; free GA and Flex Pass tickets are free, and reserved-seating free tickets and comps cost 25¢ each.
